A Cradleful of Lullabies
A sharing of the Georgian Song Tradition.
(both Georgian and Scottish)
A unique opportunity to enter into the spirit of the republic of Georgia’s harmony songs, described by UNESCO as
“a masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity.”
For the first time in Scotland, SHORENA GETIASHVILI once a young street child from the strife torn Republic of Georgia, will share the story of her life in the ground breaking Tbilisi singing orphanage, Dzegvi.
NANA MZAVANADZE, a modern day song tradition bearer from a family of Georgian Song Masters, and Madge Bray, a Scottish singer, will assist, and sing in harmony with her.
This will be followed by candlelit Georgian and Scottish lullabies by the fireside.
